Hello.How do I know if my relative received his medal? What do the initials BW and VM stand for?  :)

They are part of the three medals most WW1 solidiers received. You can find out all about them at http://www.greatwar.co.uk/medals/ww1-campaign-medals.htm.

The site also tells how how to view the records. They are also on Ancestry (not sure about Find My Past and the other main sites).

If you provide me the full name and any regimental info of your person of interest, I'll have a peek for you.
Thomas, Davies, Jones, Walters, Daniel in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. That should narrow it down a bit!
