Update to this post, which I placed quite awhile ago.
James McKenna (1820 Donagh, Monaghan, Ireland - 11 Jan 1881 Fort Augustus, PEI, Canada)
Spouse: Mary Trainor (1822 Ireland - 28 Jun 1896 Fort Augustus, PEI, Canada)

Sibling; Hugh McKenna (1818 Ireland - 17 Dec 1881 Fort Augustus, PEI, Canada)
Spouse: Ellen McGaughey /McHany / McHaby (1820 Ireland - 21 Jan 1891 Fort Augustus, PEI, Canada)

Genealogist claims parents
Patrick McKenna (1801 Femanagh, Ireland - 15 Jun 1890 Fort Augustus, PEI, Canada)
Unknown spouse died about 1831 in Ireland

Possible brother:
Peter McKenna (1825 Ireland - unknown)
Spouse: Rose Burns (Byrnes)

Possible Half Siblings:
Parents: Patrick & Alice (unknown)
Francis McKenna & Agnes King
Patrick McKenna & Bridget McCullough

1881 Census lists the 3 below with parents Patrick & Alice, the census does not list relationships
1891 Census Lists the 3 below as siblings
John McKenna 1840
Ellen McKenna 1844
Catherine (Kitty Ann / Katia) 1874) mother (Alice) would have been 58 yrs old when born.
Could she be a child of John & Ellen, and the census marked incorrectly?

Looking for any descendants of brother Peter or the half siblings, and with luck a dna test to help confirm, these theories as I have not seen anything to support the claim.

It's the McKenna Clan you'd really need to ask....  http://clannmackenna.ie/

Hi, Dan. I'm following the PEI Mckennas also. Specifically I am looking for a connection between my wife's Great Grandmother, Mary Kate McKenna (Carbonear and Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland), and an Ellen McKenna of Vernon River, PEI. Not much help to you I know but I thought I'd share just in case. All the best.

Thank You All for the help.

Ann,
The 3 that you posted:
the first one married in 1836, would be to early for marriage
putting them at about 16 & 14 yrs old.
But the parish is a perfect match

The marriage in 1842 is more interesting, however their first child
was born in 1851 in PEI, Canada. I also believe they were in PEI, Canada at that time.
However I will keep a copy and Thank You for your efforts.
Let me know if anyone needs any help, will try to return the favor.
Dan McKenna
