Hello Chickadee,

I would first start by trying to find Joseph's Birth Certificate.

If you go along to your local family History centre you will be able to have a look a the St Catherine's Index which lists all Births, Marriages and Deaths for the whole of the Country indexed by year and then by the quarter of the year the event took place.  As you already know the month and year this should be quite easy to find.  Once you find the listing, just make a note of the reference number and then you can apply for a copy of his full Birth Certificate which you will be to purchase from the register office in West Derby.

Once you have the certificate it will tell you so much more listing full names, trades of parents and where they were living at the time.

Let us know how you get on  :)

Regards

Hello Chickadee.

I have just looked on the 1837online site for the birth of your
Joseph Shaw in Dec 1912, with mother maiden name of Oldfield,
sorry, but no joy.

I also looked in the Jan quarter of 1913, just in case he was born in Dec  1912, but registered in the January, but again, no
luck I am afraid.

ANY chance he might have been born, before his parents married? It is something a lot of us have come up against,he may have been born Oldfield, and taken his father's name
later.....Just a thought.

Jeannie

Hi Chickadee,

I am looking for Corletts in the West Derby area.

As yet I don't have an Alice Corlett but there are James, Margaret, William, Thomas, Mary Ann, Robert. Any of them sound familiar?

Hi Chickadee, you posted an enquiry about Joseph Shaw DOB 1911 and sought some info on the son Robert. I believe I'm able to help  in that regard.
