Hi Trying to trace the family history of Martha Sadler who was born in Mickley Yorkshire in 1850. Her parents were John and Jane Sadler.

Thanks - Yes thats the family, ideally I would like addresses where they lived in 1851 ( Mickley ) and in 1861 in Dringhouses as shown on 1861 Census. Not sure where I would get such info. Thanks for your help.

The only way to get the address is to look at the actual image of the censuses, not just the transcription.

The 1861 just says Private House. All the heads of families on that page appear to be gardeners or market gardeners.

Unforunately 1851 just says Mickley as well, no address.

I have just looked at both census returns and it doesn't show any house numbers or house names on this occasion.

It is probably as it was a village rather than a town.

Hi Woodlands Hall,

Don't know if you're still actively researching this family, but they are mine too!

John Sadler & Jane (Banks) had 8 children in total, and I'm descended from their eldest, Thomas born in 1840.  :)

Martha was christened on the 2nd October 1848 and died in 1884. She married Alfred Sanderson and had at least 5 children that I have found.
