Yes but we aren't allowed to post details of living people here.

I really don't know anywhere online that will give you recent details of the family. Both the O'Kanes and Kerrs were (and are) well-known locally. Is it the O'Kane side you are trying to trace?

Yes it was the okane side, it's my nanas that's needs to see if there are any leaving relatives. Her sister in law just passes away in June and my nana has been passed down her 100year old house, we though our aunt owned everything but turns old her land is lease hold and not free hold and this is where William okane comes into it his solicitors had bought alot of land and lived opposite my aunts house, but we just need to find out if he has any living relatives to find if they know about this lease hold.  :)

Lots of houses around Garvagh were leasehold rather than freehold. I doubt that the present members of the O'Kane family would know anything about Jean's bungalow but surely a solicitor should be able to sort this out.

That's what you would think :( were currently with a solicitor who's been trying to contact alot of people and she asked me to find  what ever information I could about William okane I.e death and family because it looks like he was the leaseholder, we also contacted another solicitor in Limavady who was supposed to connected martin French ingred but he said he had nothing to do with it so we're back to square one again. It's getting very frustrating :-\

Hey,

I'm not sure how old this post is. I've just seen it.  The four daughters that you are referring to you in your chat were my Granny and great Aunties.  They were Annie, Kathleen, Eileen and Claire.  I'm Eileen's grand daughter.  Happy to chat if you would like more information.

Thanks.

Emer, Dublin.
