Heather, thank you for the link, I will have a jolly good look at that as I can confirm my Granddad's details so will take it from there.

Sally, I do not think these my Halliwell's unfortunately, this is where all the confusion comes about, there were so many "Greenwood's" and "Halliwell's"  I have very vague memories of my grandmother mentioning that the Greenwoods and Halliwell's joined in marriage which is where my granddad's "unique" christian name comes from.
