Hi you seem to have quite a bit re Joshua, what is it you are missing or wish to add to your researches?

Is the marriage on Freebmd?

Have you Joshua Astin on any census?

OK just found marriage in Staffs records as Joshua ASKIN  Father Robert to Susannah Bale Father John Bale

That is a great coincedence as their is this marriage:-

Percival Tunstall 23 occ Joiner Resident Golden Hill Father William Tunstall occ Gentleman
Sarah Ann BALL/BALE 27  abode Burslem Father John Bale/Ball

Witnesses John Ball & Beradiata? Tunstall
24th December 1857 St John The Evangelist, Golden Hill, Staffordshire

Looks good as on the 1861 ref by BumbleB for Joshua & Susannah living on same ref is Percival & Sarah Tunstall RG09/2581/13/20

Wow! I cannot believe the trouble you are going to and am very grateful  :) I will see if I can obtain a copy of the page to decipher it myself as information was given to me over the phone, but what you have both found is interesting and thank you so much.  Obviously I would like to reunite it with a member of the family but if there is no-one that would be a shame.  Just have to give it a try though!  I will keep you posted!

 ;D ;D ;D  So I hadn't totally lost the plot!  Phewwwwwwww!
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Have now had original photographed and sent to me via social media.

Joshua Aspin died Dec 18 1902 Age 68 Years
Susannah Aspin died Aug 17 1904 Age 71 years
Sarah Ann Tunstall died Nov 11 1901 Age 73 years
Percival Tunstall Husband of Above died May 13 1902 Age 68 years

Childrens Names (title)

Sarah Jane Aspin born Aug 6 1859
Baptised at Bethel Chapel, Burslem

Parents Names (title)

Husband Joshua Aspin Born July 19th 1834
Wife Susannah Aspin Born Nov 25th 1832
Married Sept 2 1858 at St Pauls Church, Dale Hall, Burslem.

This would tie in with the deaths registered in Macclesfield district.  My thoughts are that it is worth looking into Sarah's death to see who registered it but can this be done without having to purchase a death certificate?  I suppose it is worth looking through obituaries but would I be looking at a Staffordshire or Cheshire newspaper?  Thank you for your help!

Which just goes to prove that it is important to see the actual documents, and not to rely on others perceptions of what the writing says! ;D ;D

Thank you everyone for your help - just goes to show how hard it is to find things when there is a typo. This is really appreciated! 🙂
