Surname: Scotland

Hello,

I am currently trying to create a family tree and am looking at my husbands side. His surname is Scotland and we have traced back to around 1820 to a George Scotland from Kinrosshire. I wasnt sure if anyone had any information about the Scotland family.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Each of the censuses from 1841-1901 shows several hundred entries for that surname so there were many families involved

For anybody to know whether they had a connection to the particular branch you are researching you would need to give more info (eg) a particular census entry containing the families details

Can only see 1 George Scotland Kinross in 1841 aged 6 with father Andrew aged 36 a tailor.
Is this him?

If you haven't already done so, a good way to make surname connections with other members is to enter your surname interests in the Surname Interests Table (SIT), and to check there whether others are researching these names.
