Hello Katie,

A very warm welcome to Rootschat.

You haven't given us any approximate dates of birth for your ancestors, which would be helpful.

There is a marriage on 13 August 1904 between an Alberta Raistrick aged 39, Spinster and a Harry Marchbank Hainsworth, aged 28 -- a Railway Guard -at St John's Church, Eccleshill.

Fathers are - John Hainsworth, Engine Driver and matthew Henry Raistrick, Retired Gas Stoker.

This gives Alberta an approx birth year of 1865, which may be too early for your Alberta -- or do you think this may be the correct couple?
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

There is also a Baptism of an Alberta Raistrick on 6 June 1874 -- with a father Matthew Henry and a mother Louisa -- in Idle, Yorkshire.

This means her age at marriage may have been incorrect (or I mis-read it!) -- as her birth year is likely to be 1874.

Matthew and Louisa also had a son, Smith Raistrick in 1879.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Hello

I'm looking for Hillaryann, she was looking for information for Alberta Raistrick.   I'm actually looking for information regarding her dad, I'm assuming.  Alfred Henry Hainsworth.  Does she have the year he was born and where he was born.  We are battling to find my husband's grandpa's information.  He was born 27 June 1909, but we are unsure if he was born in England (Bradford, Yorkshire) or in South Africa, battling to put all the info together.
I have seen a copy of Harry's death certificate as he passed away in South africa and mentions his son's John and Alfred.   I know they went back and forth to England on holiday.  We are looking for baptism information on the 2 son's as well.
Perhaps Katie might also have info.
Kind regards
Michelle and Craig

Hello Katie, I have just spotted your thread, I am not too sure who the Hilaryanne is that you are referring too ? I can not find any member with this username and not too sure if you were trying to reply to a current thread on RootsChat  ???

Michelle and Craig welcome, please note that it is against our rules to research for living folk.

Hi Sarah,

I'm not sure what you mean by living folk?  People in discussions are deceased.

Just wanted to hear if any of the others that posted have any info on my husband's grandpa, who is deceased.  John Edward Hainsworth know as Jack, son of Harry Marchbank Hainsworth and Alberta Raistrick.

Kind regards
Michelle
