Thank you for your fantastic help. I have 2 questions regarding the Higgins.

1. Charles Higgins born 1841 in Bradford Abbas is rumoured to have died at sea. Where and when?

2. George Higgins his brother died in 1889 at Tredegar after killing himself and another. Where was he buried and are there any records apart from the newspaper report? Possibly an inquest report?
His father was also George a policeman at Tatworth and then Curry Rivel in Somerset and then moved to Trent which moved from Somerset to Dorset.

Very many thanks for any help that you can provide.

Mark

FindMyPast has a database of Deaths at Sea, 1781-1968?

Other records re the murder are likely to be at Gwent Archives?

Very many thanks. I did order a death cert for George Higgins about a month ago and eagerly await. I did incorrectly give the date of the wrong Charles as I am particularly interested in my gt grandmother's generation.
She was Bessie Higgins born Tatworth 1866. Oldest brother George was the murderer. Charles born 1864 disappears and family story was that he was drowned. Eliza Ann no knowledge,  James E no knowledge, Mary Jane married Jim Brown and moved to Seattle but no further details. William chief constable. Quite a mix!

I wonder if anyone knows where George Higgins died and is buried? He spent his last years at Trent Mill, Trent, Dorset?
1837-1917

Many thanks  Mark

Probably buried at Trent churchyard?

Unfortunately, OPCDorset only has burial register until 1907.

N.B. Trent was in Somerset until 1896 ;D

Just trying to tidy some odds and ends. Ellen Auguta died in 1879 aged 2 and wonder if she is the daughter of George and Charlotte Higgins of Tatworth? There is also a George dying in the Chard area in 1869 before the age of one. I wonder if he was named after his father George. I can not again find the parents name. Thanks for any help.  Mark
