I am trying to trace information on Werner Porzig's life in Germany. He was born 17/6/1919  to Flora and Paul Porzig supposedly in Hamburg but Meerane, Saxony is also a possible place of birth.
I have tried the websites suggested on this site section for searching German family databases but I cannot find any records of a Werner. It is of course possible he could have migrated before or after the war so there would be few recent records of him in Germany.
I was wondering if there are any other websites or central state German organizations I could contact to try and obtain a DOD for example? I am not based in Germany so I would have to contact them via email or letters.
