This doesn't help with finding the death but here is Mary Kennedy in the 1841 census with her parents: http://www.scottishindexes.co.uk/41transcript.aspx?houseid=78901125

There is a very useful transcription of some Hawick deaths between 1825 and 1862 here: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/ROX/Hawick/wilson.txt sadly no sign of Mary but it may be useful to you in the future.
