Miner or Mariner?
« on: Sunday 31 August 14 10:33 BST (UK) »
An 1891 marriage certificate.
The Father of the groom is a "Master Mariner".
What is the Father of the bride? I think miner?

Could be either but does look a bit shorter than the mariner above it so my vote would be miner. Can you find him on other records and see which is the more likely from his occupation before the marriage?

Definitely 'Miner', but you might like to double check David's occupation in the censuses. Do you know when he died?
