Arthur Carter - Birmingham, England and Otahuhu, New Zealand

I am trying to find birth records for my Arthur Carter, born 1845 Parish of St Paul, Warwickshire, Birmingham.  Death certificate states father was also Arthur and was a Butcher and mothers name was Charlotte (no maiden name).  He came to NZ in 1866.  His death cert states he was born in Tasmania (however 4th Waikato Militia records disprove this) but it means he must have spent some time in Tasmania. (He married a Margaret O'Connor in NZ in 1867).
There is an Arthur Carter on the 1851 and 1861 census in Warwickshire born in 1845 with a father Thomas (Butcher) and mother named Charlotte and I thought this would definately be him as they do not appear on any further census records and I thought perfect it means they have gone to Tasmania or NZ as a family, however, this family went to Canada and this Arthur Carter married and died there!!
So I am still looking and am not having much success at tracing him at all.
Any suggestions of where else I could look

May I ask where you obtained the birth details?
FreeBmd only has one Arthur Carter born in 1845 and that is in Lutterworth in Leicestershire, which is not in Birmingham.

The Arthur son of Thomas & Charlotte was born 1849 Coventry not 1845 B'ham.

There's 1 in B'ham:
Births Jun 1847
Carter  Arthur     Aston  16 209
Can't see him on the census but there's an Arthur Carter b.1847 in Minworth.His father worked on the canals so it might be him.

(however 4th Waikato Militia records disprove this)

That 1847 Arthur was the son of Samuel & Jane; married Margaret O'Connor in NZ (1867) and died in NZ: according to an online tree!

I think that this Arthur can be found on later census , I have been on this on and off most of the day, and have come up with what has been posted, nothing conclusive yet, but the one that, Jim1 posted looks a possibility

Not sure if it will be any help.....had a look at the NZ bdm website. There are 9 children to Arthur and Margaret,

1870 Thomas John
1873 Arthur
1875 Charles Edward
1876 Charlotte
1878 James Allison
1884 Amelia
1885 Joseph
1890 Alfred George

There is quite a gap between James and Amelia, miscarriage maybe? Or time apart? I just wondered if the childrens names might throw a clue to earlier family members. Naming pattern.....

Interesting to see there's a Thomas & Charlotte there.
Also Thomas' father was called William.
It could be that whoever gave the information on his death cert. got his father's name wrong or didn't know it & just guessed & that might also apply to his age.
So it might be the Coventry Arthur after all.
