browsing for a William Swift I stumbled over a family of Swifts as follows in 1881 in Prescot:

thinking they might be connected I searched for them in 1891 Prescot only to discover them as:

Margaret Houghton   6
John W Houghton   4

again in Prescot in 1901

was curious why they were down as Swift in 1881 

NB: a Faith Houghton born 1872 Prescot and a Faith Houghton died 1889 Bury aged 17 but no Faith Swift matches in BMD at this time

Hi again in 1861 along with Swift family was a James Forshaw aged 38 in 1841 is this grouping with a Joseph Forshaw aged 20 in Whiston:-
