Hello

On the 1891 census, Catherine Davies, born 1823 in Neath, a widower living in Merthyr Tydfil at 67 Church St, Penydarren, Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorganshire, Wales

Could some please help concerning her occupation, I cannot read it and I am unable to put up an image due to size issues and descaling makes the census unreadable

out door pauper - so she was receiving parish relief but not living in the workhouse

You are welcome :) For information I have windows 7 and it has a snipping tool so I selected the bit you needed, saved it with a 'unique' name then attached it. I use the snipping tool a lot!

I would also agree with Osprey that is looks like Out Door Pauper, but I wouldn't have known what that meant!!!!

Her father and husband had died between 1881 and 1891, so I imagine she had very little assistance from people
