Hello -

I know some McGonagles from the Burtonport area of Donegal. The following link may be of some interest to you, together with other links within it :

I found a death of a Daniel McGunigle in 1881 on Ancestry. When I looked up the reg district in the microfiche there was a second Daniel. On the fiche they were spelled as follows:

1881/1199 McGunegle Daniel
1881/704 McGunigale Daniel
Both registered in Christchurch.

Daniel McGunegle comes up in the online index as 25 years. The age is a few years off so it's not clear if he is Daniel Jnr or someone unrelated. I can't find the Daniel McGunigale in the online index- have tried as many different spellings as I can think of.

There is a Daniel McGonagle in the 1881 Canterbury (Heathcote) electoral roll. Freehold; address Waterholes Road, farmer, rural section 7750. He isn't there in 1885.

Cheers
Helen
