Family Tree software for an iMac - recommendations please
« on: Wednesday 10 September 14 18:30 BST (UK) »
Hi

For the last decade I have used Family Tree Maker on a windows laptop and have got on fine with it. However I have now treated myself to an iMac and I am trying to find out what software runs with success on it. I have thought about buying the latest version of FTM for the iMac but I have also thought about the possiblity of trying something new, something designed for the iMac. I have considered buying Windows for the iMac and using the software I already have, but I feel the need for a change, something new and modern looking.

So does anyone have any suggestions about software that runs well on the iMac. I have tried trial versions of both Heredis, but do not like the American date system, and I have tried MacFamilyTree 7.

Thanks for your input

Have been running Reunion10 for the last couple of years on both desktop and laptop Macs very successfully. This took over from a much earlier version of Reunion on my previous Mac. Recommended.

Paula, if it is of any help to you i use Heredis on a PC and if i remember rightly (haven't updated anything recently) you can change the format of the date so that it reads day, month, year rather than month, day, year.
I would have to look up intructions to check how to do it, but can do if it would help
