I have matthew  kelly in my family tree born early 1800's in carlow. he married margaret McAsey, born early 1800's.
they came from ballyellin area to australia in 1842, & lived in Yea Victoria. margaret's brother & his family also came to australia at the same time, & settled in Yea victoria. I am trying to locate info on  matthew kelly's family & the McAsey family from ballyellin as I have no info on the family in ireland
can anyone help me? the surnames I have  are
                     kelly,     McAsey         byrne  - matthew kelly's sister had married a Byrne

Hi audrey, thanks for the info  - henry may be a connection to my mcasey's

I just remembered that the McAsey name can be spelt  as Macassey or mcassey & i think there are other variations on the spelling of the surname.
 this may help if there are any people with the surnames spelt differently.
