I have looked for young Mary's death certificate now.
She died of stomach and bowel haemorrhage, aged just 3 days -

Henry H Hyde born 1889 Croydon aged 58 years and a customs officer appeared on a New York Passenger list with Alice Hyde aged 57 years travelling Southmapton to New York on the Queen Elizabeth 15 July 1947. Last permanent address listed was 2091 Parker Street Vancouver. They had been to 3131 Selsdon Road, So Croydon, Surrey. Had been in the USA June 1946 to July 1946 San Francisco.

UK Return Passenger List showed the couple arriving on the Aquitania 22 April 1947. Going to the address above. Departed Halifax Nova Scotia to Southampton.

Henry Hyde (retired) - Alice Agnes Hyde - Herbert T Hyde (Trucker) and Bernice Hyde all resided 945 Laurier Avenue. Okanagan; Boundary, British Columbia, Canada 1963.

Thanks, Sandra.  I have that passenger listing (there was a huge Hyde family gathering at Melbury, 313, Selsdon Road, Croydon on 27 Apr 1947, there is a sheet of paper in the Hyde family Bible listing all those who attended.)

Ii is with the initial entry to Canada that I am mistaken - I thought perhaps 1908 from Liverpool.  However, the death certificate indicates that he emigrated in 1911.

Not found in 1911 UK census, so possibly before 2 Apr 1911.  Does not appear in departures from UK that year

The immigration date could be wrong, this was not unusual.
1921 census said 1911 as well  ::)

Margaret Dohm wife of Henry Hyde died 18 Sept 1993 - Daughter was the informant. Address was 6322 188th Street Surrey BC.
