Hi thank you so much for all the superb info
yes several of the records i have got do list the place of birth, but not all of them do and in this case I don't have high hopes since his birth is given as about 1893, so nobody really seems to have known. I will have the marriage record in about 1 weeks time (its a slow process), I should then know where to find him, since there are not that many people by that name...I live in hope........I have just accessed his WW1 details held out Grimsby archives, they don't tell me much more than the internet, except he was wounded 4 times, spent 4 years in service abroad and 1 year at home, I presume its 5 years because he wasn't discharged immediately. I am a little confused still though since his medal index card suggests date of entry 25.4.1915. He served in theatre 2b, does anybody know what that means? Looking at things he started in the Royal Dublin 11246, then went into the labour corps 638927. He got the victory, british and 15 star and then it says something like: LuB List Lb?? 4636. Can anybody tell me more about the info on his medal index card?
thank you

thank you that is very kind. I now have his marriage certificate. His father was Patrick and the marriage took place in a local catholic church, which makes me think more and more, that he was from Dublin. His occupation is stated as Private 512 employment company no 638927, so he certainly was in the Royal Dublin. So now I can get searching for his birth/baptism.
Does anybody know how he would have ended up in Grimsby? He was listed as being in the Royal Dublin 11246, then went into the labour corps 638927 in WW1 with a Grimsby address and was still in the army in January 1919. By 1920 he was a dock labourer in Grimsby (his father Patrick was also a labourer). I am just wondering if he was in any way stationed in Grimsby or if he was brought there by the fish some time between 1911 until he signed up.

Who were the witnesses ?
The information that Aghadowey provided on page 1 looks like the family.
Patrick isn't there so maybe he was in Grimsby at the time & the family followed later.

right I have now got his marriage record and yes his father was called Patrick, so Dublin is the place. Does anybody have any idea how to find his baptism or his parent's marriage? His mother was called Catherine. They must have married roughly around 1890 or slightly after this
thank you

Depends if he was their first child, or the youngest of a dozen or so born after 20+ years of marriage!
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex
