John James Evans married Anne Agnes Clara (Annie) Jones (born 29th August 1878 in Sion Row, Llanelly) in the june Quarter of 1900 (11b/53). The addresses given on the cert. were those of the 91 census - Aberystwyth.
They had 4 children
- Jack Evans b: 1906
- Rose Maria Clara Evans (Dolly) b: 1906
- Thomas Frederick Evans (Fred) (1910-1993)
- Reginald Evans (Reg)
John James started his working life as a printer, became a clerk and finally a journalist who worked for the Cambrian News in Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. He is buried in Llanbadarn Churchyard.
The children Jack and Dolly were twins. They were either born in Aberystwyth or Oswestry. Fred and Reg were born in Princes St. Aberystwyth.
Annie died on 15th May 1943 at 23, Maesheli, Penparci, Aberystwyth
John James and Annie are buried in Llanbadarn Fawr cemetery, as is Dolly. Jack is buried in Aberdyfi, as his wife was from there. Reg emigrated to Oz. Fred died in 93, was cremated and has a memorial stone on his parents grave in Llanbadarn Fawr.
I have written to the Cambrian news for more info, but they were less than unhelpful.
Do your worst!!
It'll be better than I've managed.
