Yes that is my grandmother. Her name is Felicia, it's mispelled on the record... I am really trying to tie this Wycherley fellow to my family to confirm if he is my great grandfather. I have no living relatives with any information unfortunately.

If he is indeed the guy in the newspaper story who married 4 times and got done for bigamy, then his 1917 marriage, to someone he met in Brighton, would be to my great grandmother Mabel Hadden, who lived in Brighton.

A lot of coincidences here if its not him, but i need to get proof!!!

Well folks. It looks like this is our man.

The article about the 4 wives from Hartlepool Mail in 1922 says he met his 4th wife in Brighton, and they were married and St George Hannover Square in London on December 8 1917

My great grandma, Mabel Hadden, was married December 8 1917, at St. George Hannover Square in London, to Thomas Harley Pritchard Mackenery.

Thomas Harley Pritchard Mackenery, aka, Harley Mackenery, Thomas Mackenery, Thomas Henry Wycherley.

I'd say "a bit of a rascal" is correct! I would love to be able to track down this guys death certificate, and find out where he went and what happened after 1922 when he was imprisoned for the 2nd time. I have a lot of research to do here! Thanks everyone for your help, and if you have any ideas on where to go from here please feel free to help! :) You're the best

Hi Perrin,
Wow , you've certainly got an "interesting" ancestor !
He's definitely a rascal  ;D
First thing I would suggest is to ask a Moderator to move your post, or close it down and start a new one in another board as it certainly seems that Thomas Wycherley/Mackenery has no Scottish connection.
Funnily enough when I first read your post- I wondered if the surname Mackenery  was a corruption of McEnrey or McHenry (son of Henry) and so it proved to be.
And maybe he's not the only one in the family who like is change names - I do wonder if Boudica will be his mother's real name??
1871 Census - Bilston, Staffordshire  (Registration district Wolverhampton)

Henrey Whichorley    Head   M   46   Shropshire
Dinia Whichorley    Wife           F       38        Bilston, Staffordshire
John Whichorley        Son            M       11          Bilston, Staffordshire
Martha Whichorley   Daughter   F   2   Bilston, Staffordshire
Annmaria Dyke   Lodger   F   25   Shropshire

Dinia/ Boadica?? Of course they might not be the same woman  :-\

Looby :)
