Seeking some help to find the parents of Isabella Sawyer.

The information I have so far, is from the 1881 census RG11/2733/152/1
Here she is described as the granddaughter of James Sawyer 79, and Elizabeth Sawyer 80. According to the census, she was born in Shelton Staffs, and is aged 29, which makes her possible birth 1852.

I have also found a possible census in 1871 as a border in Stoke on Trent, aged 20, which is about the right age.

I have been unable to find her parents. I have found a possible birth registration for her, at Wolstanton Staffs, 1853 March Quarter Vol 6b page 109.

Other than buying the certificate, how could I find her parents.
As she is not a direct ancestor, I am reluctant to purchase the certificate.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

KG Thanks for that.

For some reason I have not been able to find that one, so will make a note and follow the Coxon family to see where they fit in. Starting to get complicated.

Hi just spotted this thread, firstly I could not locate a marriage for this pairing, but also note that James & Elizabeth Sawyer in the 1841 Census HO107/987/ 14/10 / 24 have a daughter Charlotte b c 1816 amongst others including an Isabella b c 1816 in Burslem.

Keyboard86, thanks for that. I will have to find out about the Coxon side of things.

The Isabella, dau of James & Elizabeth I have followed through to my own side, but the Isabella I am looking for was born about 1852/3. Just where she fits in is what I am trying to work out.

Who is her father is the key to the problem. I have a Joseph, b1831, which would make him 22 if she is his. Will have to see what I can find out.

Again, many thanks for your help.
