Aberlour Orphanage
« on: Thursday 30 June 05 20:20 BST (UK) »
I was just wondering if there are any "scallywags" out there who were at Aberlour Orphanage in the forties or fifties ???

I know of some old boys and girls who keep in touch and someone who has compiled a short history of the home. Any photos available would be appreciated, copied and returned.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the links, kez-s.

I've heard about the reunions but so far been unable to attend.  I have near neighbours (Ina & Michael) who have been to them and have gathered and copied lots of photos.  Still there must be a lot more out there - photos and scallywags!

Problem being I suppose - how many of us oldies use the Internet?

Thanks again,

Ed.

Hi Ed

There is a thread in the Lighter side which has given some surprising results about us oldies (I'm only 5 years younger than you  (nah, nah nah, nah nah!!!))

For most of us its not age but eyesight which causes the problem!

Aye, that and how to read the "how to" pages :-[ But I'm forgetting - you're just a bairn, Russell.

Hope to visit The Lighter Side when I get a chance. Is Habbie Stewart a member?

Hi Ed

Thank you sir for the compliment!

Was that Habbie Simpson you were asking about?

He's now with the roots (and worms) while we maintain the Chat!

Sorry young man, I stand corrected. I stayed near the Weaver's Cottage for a while but that was in the early sixties when you were in short troosers.

Now I'll be getting barred for going off-topic ;)

Thanks for the mirth.
