Yes Mercy was a sister. Over 12 siblings altogether.

Ebinaeser was a girl.

Can only think they went North for work.

Is it the person down as Elineasen age 4 in 1851?  No wonder we couldn't find an Alice if that is her!

She is with Myrum age 7 months = Miriam?
thanks again ...that would explain why she isn`t with mum in 1861 - she would be 14/15 and may be working somewhere else ...away from home ??...I wonder if she was the first to go to Manchester to work and the rest followed ??
Mary and Miriam and sister Mary were still in Eastry,Sandwich,Kent in 1861

Not finding her again  :-\

Have we looked for Breeze deaths - maybe William died and she remarried?

Or baptisms for any children they may have had.

good find Milliepede
I think at the end of the day we can assume they emigrated - and the Workhouse Miriam Birbridge who entered in 1872 - 1877 is a different Miriam Burbridge ...if we can establish the age of Miriam Birbridge when she entered in Oct 15th 1872 - if she was 20 - it`s our Miriam - if she wasn`t 20 - it`s a a different lady ...
my money is on DEE`s first post - that Miriam emigrated june 1875 .... if she is 22/23 on that record ,that will confirm it`s our Miriam ....

It records her birth year as circa 1850 - so age 25 - which adds up.

Cannot trace her on the Breeze's which is the mystery?

Should read - cannot trace Miriam Burbridge or Alice Ebinezer / William after 1875 and 1870 respectively.

I know we have gone round in a circle - but I agree with your first post - Miriam emigrated 1875 and it looks like William and Alice may have emigrated too ...possibly after they married in 1870 and Miriam followed ....the only reason for my thinking of this ,- I can`t find William - Alice in 1871 census - maybe as a Valet , William had a job abroad to go to ??

I can't find a sniff of them on census either nor deaths/births/remarriages worth mentioning.

The only thing to hopefully rule out is a William Breeze on the criminal registers 1892 for common law forgery because it says "alias Frederick Knight/s"

Sure that won't be him though but gives another name to check under!

I thought we would have found them on a US census if they emigrated there  :-\
