Are you looking to just contact other family members or are you looking for census and any other information?

Thank you for the welcome and such a quick response. I am quite raw as far as all this is concerned; nonetheless I am very interested to find out where my great-grandparents came from, what made them move to London where my grandfather was born and when and why he came out to South Africa. The info I do have is what I got from one of my late aunts; I am unable to say whether the dates are correct. Alfred's wife was definitely Mary according to my gfather's birth certificate.

Is he Ernest?

With sister Mary (now Mrs Mummery) in 1891, age 9 bn Horseydown
Sister Florence age 14 there too.
I can see sister JaneF as a servant elsewhere.

Looks like the family are spread.

Hi again, looking at various online trees, none of them have Ernest as the son of Alfred Edward Floyd and Mary Blanche Caines, also all census returns for Alfred & Blanche stop at the 1881 above.

I cannot at present locate a death/remarriage/census for either of them, did they emigrate?

Also birth Mary Blanch Caines Dec qtr 1845 Clifton 11 298
Also birth Ernest Charles Floyd Sept qtr 1881 St Olave 1d 191 ( covers Horsleydown area)
