Have already checked Ballymoney Cemetery database, etc. on Ballymoney Ancestry for Lilleys, etc.

I've had a look through my notes and indications are that the Bravallen Lilleys are not closely connected to the ones you might be interested in.

There are several Lilleys buried in the Old Ballymoney Graveyard but nothing yet to connect with your Samuel Lilley (although there was a Samuel Lilley born c1807, son of James Lilley & Jane Steen, that were connected to the Ballymoney Lilleys).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I have read your chat with interest as many of the names / places mentioned cross over with my grandmother's family which always been a mystery. What I know:

I am from Belfast and my grandmother Norma Pearl Smith/Lilley was born to Rachel Lilley (Ballymoney) and father unknown 28 Jan 1923 in Conlig, Bangor. Rachel Lilley died 15 July 1927 and was married at the time to A A Hobbs (Toronto, Canada) born or Rachel Lilley was born to Nancy J Lilley (Labrynth Cottage, Spa, Ballynahinch nee Nancy Jane Smith) and Samuel Lilley. This I know from a funeral advert placed at the time which my grandmother had. This Samuel Lilley was originally from Brevallen, Ballymoney. My grandmother was then brought up by her aunt Minnie Lilley when orphaned at 4 years old.

Is this the same Lilley family or might you have some clues from your own searches which might help me.

Thanks,

Jonathan Wright, Belfast

I was very pleased to read your post, as George Crawford Lilley was my grandfather. My name is
William George May and I am his first grandchild. My mother Anne May (nee Anne Lilley) was
his oldest child. I was very close to my grandfather, who was a true Irishman, always pulling pranks!  Can you please give me the names of your wife's parents as they would be my
cousins, and I have been trying to re-connect with my family.
Please respond by email as I am not familiar with the workings of forums. My email address is

Hello Jackson (is that your 1st name?). I received your post this evening. I see you responded by private message. Apparently I am not allowed to read your response as I  have not posted enough messages. Hopefully I will qualify after posting this message! Please keep in touch through the forum until we can talk privately.
Would you mind telling me your wife's name?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Bill

Bill:
You are so close!  I think you need three posts to get access to the messages...
My name is Mark Jackson.  I do not like to give much info on a public forum on people who are still alive, but my wife is the daughter of Maxine Lilley VandeVelde who passed away in 2008.  (That is where the two halves of my username come from!).

You are so close!  Hopefully you will have access to the message soon!

Mark

Hi Mark, thanks for your quick reply. Maxine was my 1st cousin, the daughter of my
uncle George Lilley (son of George Crawford Lilley). I think I should now be eligible to read
your private message so I will await clearance to do so.
