Looking for the ancestors of Hannah Hollis born in Rosliston, Derbyshire around 1796.  She married John Bennett October 1828 but cannot find her parents, grandparents etc.  Any idea's?

Hi Michelle,

There is a Hannah Hollis on Ancrusty, dau of George and Hannah Hollis bap 26 July 1795 but in Rolleston Staffs (north side of Burton on Trent) instead of Roliston Derbys (South of Burton on Trent).  Have you discounted this already?

1861 they have a Visitor Jessie A WRIGHT 1851 Burton-Upon-Trent, Staffordshire,

1851 Census

Ann Wright, 22, Wife, Mar, born Rosliston, Derbyshire
Joseph Agnes Wright    5 Mo***** (mage is Jessey)

Marriage Reg, March 1850, Burton, 17 44
Edwin WRIGHT/Ann Bennett HOLLIS

1861 Ann is born c 1829 Roliston, Staffordshire

So was Ann born before the Marriage of Hannah Hollis to John Bennett ? (which I cant find)

1851 census for Abraham Bennitt b 1837 as a 'visitor' in West Bromwich living with George Wilkinson and sister.  A couple of doors down is a Hollis family (head Thomas Hollis, 34, born Holiston Derbys).

Thomas otp = Mary Croxall otp/ 20/7/1790
John otp = Sarah Yates otp/ 10/10/1791
Thomas otp = Elizabeth Tinsley otp/ 8/10/1794
Thomas otp = Maria Biddle otp/ 27/2/1810
Also several Hollis' on the census claiming to be from there so that's the place to look for her birth.
