Hi im new to all of this
« on: Saturday 04 October 14 12:31 BST (UK) »
I need all he help I can get, and im so happy to have found this lovely chat group, I shall start by telling you that I am a Mormon,  a latter day saint, and family history is so important to us Mormons, and since starting to find my ancestors, its become quite addictive and sooo exciting, I have had lots of help from members  of my church, but I think its time that I started to help my self more and to learn of how to search for my ancestors myself, up to now, friends have gone back to the 17th century on my fathers side which is the bunny's  and on my grand fathers side the lahney's on my mothers side of family... but my desire at the moment is to find more about my nana's mam Esther Douglas, she was born in 1880 and died 1959. I do not know much about her, and just cant wait to find out.. im Mands, and im so looking forward to getting to know you and will enjoy reading your posts, ya never know, I might find some relitives here haha which will be cool

Hi and welcome to RootsChat !

Do you have any idea where Esther was born and/or died?  Was Douglas her maiden name, or her married name?

Welcome Mands - do you have any dates for Esther please?

It is quite possible that you will eventually make contact with distant relatives, as many of us do.  :)

Maybe it's just me, but, using any permutation of the names, using a date range from 1890-1930, I can't find a marriage for a John James Wilson to an Esther Douglas anywhere in England or Wales, let alone in/around Hartlepool.

Sorry  :(
