My Great-Grandfather, Sebastian Studerus, and 2 of his older brothers, Johann Nepomuck Studerus (eldest) and Joseph Colestin Studerus, immigrated into England circa mid-1800s. My research leads me to believe that Johann must have travelled to England prior to 1860 (when his first child was born), and I have a digital copy of Joseph's passport which shows him travelling from Paris to London on 22 March 1859. I have no detail of Sebastian's travel to England, but it must have been prior to his marriage in 1870 and his would only have been 15 or 16 when his brothers made the journey. The parents of all three had died by 1858, so there is a possibility that Sebastian travelled under the protection of one of his brothers. My quest is to find immigration details of all three brothers if possible, but I have been unsuccessful in tracing any immigration records or shipping passenger lists that show them en route. Does anyone know where or how I might start looking for such records ? Any information would be most helpful and gratefully received.
