BOUCHER mainly WORCESTERSHIRE
« on: Sunday 05 October 14 03:42 BST (UK) »
Hi, i seem to be stuck in trying to find my ancestors named BOUCHER. So far I have got my grandfather WILLIAM BOUCHER b 1900 in West Bromwich Workhouse, his mother was EMMA/EMILY BOUCHER b June 1875 in West Bromwich father unknown but working as a housekeeper in Handsworth at the time. Her parents were SAMUEL BOUCHER b c1854 in Rushock, Worcestershire and EMMA CORFIELD who married in May, 1875 at Claverley. His parents were SAMUEL BOUCHER b c1816 in Elmley Lovatt and MARIAH ATKINS.  I believe his father was DANIEL but I can get no further.
I hope someone can help me with this, please?
BOUCHER (BUTCHER, BOWCHER, BOTCHER etc) MAKIN, O'MALLEY, MILLERSHIP. ISLANDEADY CO.MAYO. ELMLEY LOVATT, CLAVERLEY.

Hi Blancsanglier,

My eyes pricked at seeing your post as I’ve got a GGGrandfather John BOUCHER, born 1820 Elmley Lovett along with a whole bunch of BOUCHERS who lived in Worcs before wandering into Gloucs and Staffs.  I’ve checked the names you mentioned and none are currently included in my tree but I have got a 1841 census under query and wonder if it’s connected to yours:
Susanah BOUCHER 65 (widow crossed out on original) - 1776
Susannah BOUCHER 35 (reads more like 55) – 1806 or 1786
Samuel BOUCHER 25 Ag lab
Mariah BOUCHER 20
John BOUCHER 20 Ag lab
Stone House, Elmley Lovett, Worcs.

Samuel and Maria then move onto Rushook for the 1861 and 1871 census along with an Aunt Susannah (76 = 1785 in 1861) and Susan (94 = 1777 in 1871).
