Orry Graham
« on: Sunday 05 October 14 07:47 BST (UK) »
Brother of Gerard Gay Graham who died 1960. And brother of Marmaduke Whittaker Graham, who died WW1 in Mesopotamia. Marmy was Awarded VC postumously. Believe Orry died in France. Was he a soldier? Or did he die there, but not a military death? Can't track him down. ORRY is correct for his Christian name.

It is the Graham family in this census 1881 - but there is no ORRY - perhaps he hadn't be born yet - and will be younger brother - in due course - of Gerard and Marmy.  My mother, Lucy Graham - first child of Gerard Graham and Lilyan Esslemont - said Orry died in France.

the only British O . Graham in WW1 casualties   - not yours - so it looks like he wasn`t a War casualty.

He does not appear on the 1891 with the family, by then Sarah would be 55 years old (she is not with the family) but maybe a bit old for having children after that  :-\

ADDED
Sarah is still in Wandsworth in 1891
Sarah A Graham    53
William J Graham 19
Ann E Graham 16
Norah Graham 14

The rest of the family are in Cumberland
William Graham   53
Ethel Graham   22
John Graham   20
Marmaduke Whitaker Graham 12

The only sons (found so far) are John, William James Holmes, Gerard & Marmaduke Whitaker.

Are you sure 'Orry' is a brother? looking at the names of children there's a sister called Norah.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

In 1891 Sarah Graham was 53.
Have you found them after 1891?
I see Gerard is in lodgings in 1901.

1911 William James Holmes Graham  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XWBX-FJ5

1911 Gerard - I assume they meant place of birth as Notting Hill https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XWM6-YSB
