I am a descendent of Benjamin Poole and his wife catherine cavanagh and brother William Poole with his wife ann stacy who emigrated to Australia in 1840. After extensive research in Gorey, we are starting to believe that they originated in Old Ross.I have been trying to track down a copy of Bernard Brownes book but no luck. Being based in Australia limits access to local records.Apparently the John Poole of Old Ross had quite a few children, a lot of which emigrated or moved to other towns.Any help would be much appreciated.
