Beatrice Alice WILSON. nee CATEN
« on: Saturday 11 October 14 15:22 BST (UK) »
What happened to Beatrice Alice Wilson.
She was born a Caten in 1886 in Loughton, Essex. Part of a large family of 10 children. Some went to South Africa and some to Australia in the early 1900s.    Thanks to previous replies.
She married James Lewis Wilson in 1909 in Bathurst, SAfrica
They had a son Leslie Broadbent Wilson in 1913. Born in Port Elizabeth
But in 1924 her husband ....Lewis, an ostrich dealer... dies in Cape Town....he is buried there.
I know that in 1929 the son Leslie joins the RAF in England aged 16 and serves until 1955.
I know all about him... but from 1924 the whereabouts of his mother Beatrice is a mystery.
She may have come to England with her young son (she had a sister Bertha in West Ham) but she may have stayed in South Africa where another Sister Sarah Keziah lived and died in Johannesburg.
I have found deaths in England for Beatrice Alice Wilson (but no exact match on b=1886)
Also found the name on incoming passenger lists but how do you prove it is the person.
ANY IDEAS

She was only 38 when widowed - have you checked for a re-marriage in SA
