Would anyone know if I ordered a microfilm from LDS would it show on marriage records circa 1760 the names of the fathers of the people getting married.

Generally not. Click into the marriage button on the link below. I chose Robinson - area Middlesex and started looking at all of the Robinson people married around 1760 could not find any example of parents names. You did not say where you thought the marriage was - I assumed England!

Yes the marriage was Francis Gennoe/Genner or Genour (the name changes quite a lot) and Elizabeth Butcher in Caynham, Shropshire 5 January 1762.  Need to find parents of Francis and Elizabeth.  The marriage did not appear on that site you recommended when I tried.

Father's names weren't routinely recorded on marriage certificates in England & Wales until the start of civil registration in 1837.

Prior to that time though, you may find the fathers as witnesses although the relationship isn't recorded, you would have to know the names.

Where have you tried to find their baptisms?

Maybe try posting on our Shropshire board to see if anyone has access to the parish registers.

Under Hardwicke's Marriage Act 1753, and the later 1812 Act, the information recorded in the parish register is the names of the bride and groom, their parish, the date and place, whether the marriage was by banns or licence, the consent of the parents if either of the couple were under the age of 21, the marital status of the bride and groom, and the names of witnesses. Addresses, Occupation and the parents names are not given.

There is a baptism for Francis Genno 16 Jun 1728 at Caynham , son of Phillipa Genno

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N158-7J7

There is also a baptism for Phillipa Gennoa dau Francis & Joyce in 1706 at Caynham  - couldn't spot this on familysearch but images of both records are available in Shropshire Baptisms on F*M*P

The Banns for the marriage state Francis otp and Elizabeth Butcher sojourner in this parish. Witnesses were John Edwards and John Wall.

That's awesme thank you so much.  My Aunt said the family originated in France but don't think I will be able to get that far back, not sure how she knew.  Shame your relatives die before you get hooked on ancestry tracing.
