New to Rootschat

Hi, I've just registered. What made me aware of the site was when I did a google using my mother's maiden name - Dooley and a mention of the name popped up on this site. I am originally from Liverpool and going back as far as the mid 19 century so are my immediate forbears, though I have traced a branch to London and earlier ancestors to Ireland. I am also researching Costello, currently have only worked on the Liverpool branch. These are both very common names but would like to discuss any possible links. Thanks

Hi and welcome to Rootschat the best thing to do is give as much information that you have. Names birth dates and places where your ancestors lived and you will find how willing and helpful Rootschatter's are

Have you checked the Surnames Interest Table?

Scroll down to the bottom of (any RootsChat) page.
In the dark box, under "Your Tools" you will see "Surname Interests".

Click on that; then "Quick Search"; then select the initial letter ("D").
Scroll down to find Dooley - Click on that and a list of Dooley researchers will pop up if there are any. Or you can add your own.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat....when you find your way around...post a query on the county board for Lancashire and include your surname of interest and.....anyone googling that surname will be brought here....just like you were.
