Trying to find birth record
« on: Thursday 16 October 14 23:58 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone help please, I am trying to locate the birth detail of Isabella Rougier / Rogier ? born circa 1830-31 in Dublin or Co Dublin Ireland. She moved to Belfast and was married to Edward McKeating in 1847, died 1904,

Regards
Joseph Lavery
P S
I am so sorry but I forgot to mention the above Isabella Rougier was from a French Huguenot family who had fled to Ireland from France, family folklore ( i.e. my grandmother) who had met her when a little girl said her grandfather was a Huguenot Minister.

If, and this may only be an assumption at some point over the years, the family were Hugenots then Catholic records are unlikely. There are some Church of Ireland records for Dublin city on the Irish genealogy site but probably not other Protestant churches or areas outside the city. As well as that, many churches may not have records as far back as the 1820s.

The marriage record for Edward and Isabella might help- do you have the certificate? and are you sure McKeating is the correct surname? see next post

This looks like your Isabella McKeating in 1901 census- ages in census can be incorrect and should only be used as a guide- and she is listed as Catholic:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/St__Anne_s/Great_Patrick_Street/933595

Son Dominick McKeating, etc. in 1911:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Antrim/St__Anne_s_Ward/Patrick_Street__Great/133797

Edward McKeating died 1881: "Letters of Administration of the personal estate of Edward M'Keating late of Belfast Saddler deceased who died 25 February 1881 at same place were granted at Belfast to Isabella M'Keating of Belfast the Widow."

javascript:oQuickReply.swap();       thank you, I have all the info on the family of McKeating / Rougier marriage in Belfast since 1847, there is no certificate available ,only the marriage confirmation listed in St Patricks Church records, it does not list any other info i.e. parents details etc, I am only going on the 1901 census records where Isabella states she was born in Co Dublin,
Joseph

Thank you Sinann
Despite the description I am very confident Isabella was born circa 1830--31
