James Henry John Hayes
« on: Sunday 19 October 14 00:55 BST (UK) »
I am still trying to find out anything about my greatgrandfather James Henry John Hayes born 1885 Buckland St Mary, Somerset England. Born out of wedlock to I believe Mary Hayes. Apparently she went on to marry and had another son and two daughters with one of the daughters. My great grandfather married Florence Cross. I have ancestry.ca but it is not helpful at all with this matter. They came over to Canada in 1911 I think. He came first and then she came a few months later with the 3 daughters. He was sent to work in the coal mines in Wales at 8 years old and stayed there till he was 13. He hurt his back in the mines and it bothered him the rest of his life. Don't know if I could find out anything through Wales or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
