 Maybe a Docks Runner

My immediate first thought was DKS = Docks ( but it didn't make sense to me, a Dock Runner- I've only known coal runners), so  I goolged away with the words  "mines DKS" to see what google would throw up at me  and  came across this  post  ( on  rootschat no less)

whether it is the case your ancestor's occupation DKS runner is a  dock runner, but it is food for thought

Hope that helps

DKS could also be... 'Door Key Switch. For use with train door controls'.

And so it might relate to working for a Train Company?
