Trying to find marriage record

Could someone please help me in find the marriage record
for George Duncan and Elizabeth Douglas.

They were married on the 14th  Feb 1835 most likely
at Monkwearmouth Sunderland.(or Bishopwearmouth )

I mainly want to know the name of George Duncans's father.

Because the marriage predates Civil Registration, father's names were not included on the record, unless they were a witness.

I don't think you will find his father's name on a pre-1837 marriage certificate.
Was he a mariner?
Elizabeth appears to have been born around 1813 but George is not with her on any census.
Is this his death?

From the baptism of on of his son's it does say he was a mariner.

Given the death date (1873 aged 63) that bevj has found, there is a masters/mate certificate issued in Sunderland for a George Duncan that does seem to fit.

The Masters Cert. of service states 'George Duncan born at Sandwick Orkney 1810, in the coastal and foreign trade for 41 years, issue date 1871'

Another record gives his date of birth 20 November 1810 Sandwick SHETLAND, found this baptism which sort of ties in with Rosie17's post

Yes, George Duncan was a mariner which explains why
he was absent on the census.

Yes I Think he was born in Sandwick Shetland.

I have no idea what the  surname is  "in the presence of "
of the last name at the bottom ??
