Hi There

NO ~ I'm not looking for the details for Alexander BUT his father.

You say that Alexander married in 1930 in South Africa !

Do you have the marriage cert ?

If so, is Alexander's father's name and occupation on it ?

Tara

So, are you saying that you don't have Alexander's marriage cert ?

If not I would recommend this as being a priority for you to get !

Hi I'm looking for my mother's father, Alexander Davis. He left Scotland to go to South Africa. On his marriage record(1930) his age is 26yrs which would make his birth year 1904. On the same document he has stated he was a plumber. Now he fathered a son in 1931 and promptly said he was leaving to go back to "Aberdeenshire". So summing up I have a year of birth, and place he was from. I've searched records in South Africa and came across his son's baptism cert where a "Rose Davis" signed as witness. This could be a sister or mother. No ships records in South Africa and cannot find any other information on him. As far as we are aware he must have died in Aberdeenshire but how do I search with so little to go on?

Tara ,Marianne does seem to have Alexanders marriage cert- where did he marry?

Carol
