Hi

Can anyone suggest the best place to start looking for my gt gt grandmother Amelia Graham.  She had an illegitimate child in Brighton in 1860 and I can find no trace of them after that date.  I have thoroughly searched all the census records on Ancestry to no avail but I wondered if Amelia and her son Henry Leonard Graham (John) went to Ireland.  There is an Irish connection in the family but I have no idea where abouts in Ireland they may have gone.  I have checked the passenger lists for Ireland but they don't appear on them and I don't really know where to go from here !

Has anyone any suggestions please .......

Diane

When and where was Amelia born? did she have a middle name? names of her parents?

"I have checked the passenger lists for Ireland but they don't appear on them"
Not sure what lists you could have checked because Ireland was part of the U.K. and no records were kept of people travelling between England and Ireland.

"Henry Leonard Graham marrying a Mary Jane Bissett or Sarah Willis July-Sept 1886 in  Brighton"
According to at least one online tree the bride was Mary Jane Bissett.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
