I wonder if this is her, given the place of birth and marriage:

Name:    Jean Mccurry
Gender:    Female
Christening Date:    30 Dec 1780
Christening Place:    , INVERCHAOLAIN, ARGYLL, SCOTLAND
Father's Name:    Duncan Mccurry
Mother's Name:    Catherin Mcchananich

I see on the 1841 census that Jean Harkness has a son called Duncan.

Hi,

Yes, thank you very much for this, it is the same Jean Currie.

While I have some information on the children and descendants of Jean Currie and Thomas Harkness and also the ancestors of Thomas Harkness I am finding it more difficult to unravel Jean Currie's history. Do you have any more information on her family?

Hi Midlad,

The Info I've had from Bevj is as follows:

Name:    Jean Mccurry
Gender:    Female
Christening Date:    30 Dec 1780
Christening Place:    , INVERCHAOLAIN, ARGYLL, SCOTLAND
Father's Name:    Duncan Mccurry
Mother's Name:    Catherin Mcchananich

I see on the 1841 census that Jean Harkness has a son called Duncan.

Agnes Harkness 20

Marriage Date:    29 Apr 1776
Marriage Place:    Kilmodan,Argyll,Scotland
Spouse:    Katharine Mcchannich

This is also as far as I have managed. However, when I try and get further back the information becomes unclear and wondered if anyone else had researched this particular line.

In the Old parish records for Inverchaolain there is a Thomas Harkness, Esquire, of Garachoir who married a Jean/Jane Currie --30/12/1799.  In the record of births I found the following
