Chorley Catholic Baptism look up please

Thanks to Barbara H. I now have a new addition to my ever growing family history

On the 1851 census it states that he was born in Chorley. Previously all this family have been born in the Garstang area

All the family up to now have been Catholics. I have tried on the IGI and Ancestry but I cannot find any Chorley Catholic baptisms so I am hoping some kind soul can help me out yet again or point me in the right direction

I am looking for
William Blackow born Chorley c1801
Parents Richard Blacow (b1765 d?) & Peggy(Margaret) Charnley(b1766-1841)

There may also be other children born Chorley

Catholic churches in Chorley:

Sacred Heart, founded in 1875

St Gregory:
It was founded in 1802.
St Gregory's Chorley was established in the 1740's in a barn at Weld Bank, after Burgh Hall (owned by the Chadwick family that had an RC Chapel built behind the hall) was burned down. The Chadwick family also owned and ran the Cotton Mills in the area.
By 1802 it was known as 'Weld Bank' as much as 'St Gregory's', but the surviving registers only begin in 1802.

St Joseph  founded 1910

St Mary  founded 1847.

So it's going to be difficult finding the baptisms?

Note on 1871 census, William Blackow was living in Ardwick, Manchester (with a new wife acquired in 1865). That year he gave his age as 76, so born around 1795, and place of birth 'Garston Lancs' which I presume should be Garstang.

Marriage to widow Elizabeth Holmes nee Grimshaw at Manchester Cathedral, 21 June 1865. Here he gave age as 64 so born c. 1801.

So be quite flexible with the age allowance and place of birth when searching! Haven't found him in 1861 yet

Wow Barbara I had seen this marriage but had dismissed it but I never looked at the ages he was a bachelor at 66!!
This is fantastic more new info - now I am confused as to where he was born but I am enjoying the hunt

The Blacoe surname, with variants, is in the index at the back of the book on page 379. Looks like other children of Richard and Peggy are in there as well.

I don't usually have this much luck with RC records!
