*COMPLETED* George and Maria Jones marriage

Hello

I received the birth certificate of Julia Jones, born in Macclesfield in 1845. His parents are George Jones and Maria.

The copy is not of the highest quality due to the dark colour of the entry

I cannot make out Maria's maiden name properly

Looking at it, it looks like Congreave or Cougreave.

Problem is is that the third letter looks like a U or an N

I am having difficulty uploading it to the computer

any help would be appreciated, perhaps the marriage record is online

There is a record of a birth (on A'y) of a Maria Congrave born abt 1811 in Atherton, Warwickshire.  This might possibly be your Maria as the 1851 census gives her place of birth as Warwick.

I can confirm that it is Maria Congrave.

I cannot seem to find a marriage though for George Jones and Maria Congrave

Maria would have been about 30 when she had Julia, perhaps it was a second marriage

It is likely, however there would still need to be a marriage.

I see 1861 and 1851 the ages of George & Maria are virtually the same, I was looking at 1851 earlier
