His father was John born abt 1825

This looks to be John's baptism

Re Moses

All the info is on Lancashire opc- I think you have some from there

Moses Pilkington married Sarah Pickles in 1824. They seem to be the parents of John born 1824.

Pilkington is a very common surname around those areas and the names John and Moses do crop up often.
However, those father/son names seem right.
