Looking for the Crudge Ancestors
« on: Wednesday 29 October 14 16:24 GMT (UK) »
I am drawing a blank so hoping to get some help from you lovely people.
I am descended from a lady called Hannah CRUDGE who was born 1735 in the Isles of Scilly and married a Hugh TREGARTHEN.
I am trying to trace her ancestors as rumour in the family has always had it that we are descended from the GODOLPHINS of Cornwall through her dad William CRUDGE (b around 1700) and then his parents were purportedly John CRUDGE and Ursula GODOLPHIN. And then further back, Sir Francis Godolphin.

Anyone able to shed any light on this for me? I am keen to hear from any distant relatives!

Hi,
Did you have any luck with the Crudge line?
I am researching my husband’s family tree, and he is also a direct descendant of Hannah Crudge and Hugh Tregarthen (7 generations).
Would love to compare our discoveries.

Hello,

I am also descended from Hugh Tregarthen and Hannah Crudge.  Hugh Tregarthen was my great-great-great-grandfather.  At present I haven't traced any ancestors further back, but I was very interested in your comments.

Best wishes,

Jane Golding

Sorry, I meant to say that Hugh Tregarthen was my great-great-great-great grandfather!
