Can anybody tell me how to trace a grave in Huddersfield? It is for Herbert Bentley who died on July 1st 1918, age 45.

hello and welcome .
If you have the death certificate it will show his address at time of death. that should help narrow the area of burial.
Kirklees council website has a section on 'How to find a grave'
Most of the church yards do not appear to have been available in 1918.
Huddersfield cemetery was.
Sorry I can't help any further but someone in that area might be able to do a look up for you.
good luck

Living at Lindley 1918
most likely burial places
Edgerton cemetery Halifax road Huddersfield
or
St Stephen's church graveyard, Lidget Street, Lindley
Contact the Huddersfield Local studies library as the have records of Edgerton cemetery
and may have St Stephen parish church registers on micro film but by 1918 the registers maybe still held by the church for 1918 onwards and you would have to contact the churchwarden

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hi
Lindley also had two chapels with burial grounds still in use, one on Lidget Street.
