Help help Thomas Edmundson born 4/6/1913 Stanley
« on: Wednesday 05 November 14 22:35 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find any information around the above individual - he was born to John Edmundson / Davison bn 1876 and Phoebe Hannah Howarth bn 1889 they were married in 1911 Thomas was born in 1913 and appears to be there first son.

He appears to have been brought up in Bulmer, Yorkshire not by his parents, does anybody have any ideas why this would be? Who brought him up etc

He married a Nora Whitelock and had two children Maurice and Geoffrey.

Any information please

Gary

He appears to have been their only child.  When and where did his parents die?

Sorry, I'm confused!  Why was he called Edmundson if Dad was Davison?

I see the parents married in Lanchester and can see 3 Davison/Howarth births in that district 1916-1923.  Are they part of the same family?

His parents died John 1936 and Mother Phoebe 1966.

John was born John Edmundson I have his birth certificate, his marriage certificate shows Davison.

Thomas was given the name Edmundson on his birth certificate it shows John Edmundson and mother Phoebe Hannha Howarth.

Johns father used the names Edmundson (birth name) and latterly Davison?

I hope that helps it is confusing, the other children of Phoebe and John were all called Davison one of which was my Grandad Harry, I am trying to discover any info as to why the change in surnames.

Yes the other 3 children were all brought up by their parents, in County Durham.

Further information from birth certificate is that he was born at 13, Derby Road, Stanley,

I have tried searching on the address in 1911 census to no avail, anyone know who lived there in 1911? How I can find out?

One can search on address in the 1911 census but we cannot do that lookup for you on Rootschat.  I don't think you will find the parents at the Stanley address, though.  They did not marry until later that year.

What are all the details from John and Hannahs marriage cert?
In particular what addresses did they give, who does John name as his father, and who are witnesses?
